This video demonstrates the use of the CADfix to resolve an issue with an apparently good model that affects a specific downstream application.
When this model is processed fully automatically it successfully exports to the ACIS format, passing the ACIS Body Checker. However when it is used in a meshing application there is a meshing failure for a particular surface that contains touching or self intersecting loops.
After scanning your CAD model, Cadfix will highlight all defaults specific for this target format. Problems are listed with color according to severity level. "Partially collapsed face" is not a critical error for export. The problem is more of an application specific issue, in this case a meshing failure. Upon inspection the solution required should split the face in some way or other. In this instance a satisfactory solution would be to split the face into two equal parts by a line running through the over-used vertex point.
